Prevent future cancers by reducing exposure to known risk factors.

The Vaccine Preventable Cancer Workgroup focuses on increasing the uptake on vaccinations for human papilloma virus (HPV) and Hepatitis B virus (HBV).

HPV Vaccines protect against the types of human papillomavirus (HPV) that most often cause cervical, vaginal, vulvar, penile, and anal precancers and cancers, as well as the types of HPV that cause most oropharyngeal cancers.

Hepatitis B is a vaccine-preventable liver disease caused by HBV. HBV is carcinogenic, and chronic Hepatitis B can lead to serious health issues such as cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer). The best way to prevent Hepatitis B is by getting vaccinated.
